Please come with your questions and experience on the topics of net zero buildings and their interactions with the grid, strategies for developing a strong work force for code inspection and enforcement, and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) 2021 codes cycle and how your state can participate.  This session will offer a forum for questions such as:

• What role can zero energy buildings play in balancing grid assets and liabilities?
• As many code officials age out of the work force, how can your state identify and train new code officials to take their place? Is there an opportunity to reach students who want to pursue careers in the trades?
• Why does the 2021 IECC codes cycle matter? How does the energy code fit in your state’s strategic planning? How can participation help meet state and community goals?

Specific questions that Committee members will be asked to address during the roundtable include:

• How is your state coordinating with others in your region on EV infrastructure investment and vehicle deployment? What specific issues are you tackling together?
• How is your state supporting Alternative Fuel Corridor development under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s FAST Act? What challenges are you facing with regards to infrastructure and signage implementation?
